These are great goggles and I have no real issues with them. The few complaints I have are based on old generation Smiths and not the new models available.

The ventilation system on these is a little brutal. The goggles never fogged up but if you're moving quickly you tend to get an icy breeze around your eyeballs - and the associated sting and teariness. This has probably been fixed now though. The padding was also a little itchy but back when these are made foam insulation was never particularly comfortable, especially not when it gets sweaty. The particular model I had clipped at the back of the strap. This is only a problem if you have a helmet as they don't fit properly - the clips are wonderful otherwise.

Because Smiths are high quality goggles, I think most of the lenses these days are polarised. They also make interchangeable lenses (which are great if you have the money) and a variety of coloured lenses. Check out the lens colour charts (either on the back of the box or in store) to see which is best for the conditions. Orange is a fairly generic all purpose lens. I prefer rose and its pretty good in all conditions too. Clear and blue are low light and night skiing lenses only.
