Let's face it, any live gig by Powderfinger is a fucking good live gig. However, I stand by the fact that the Newcastle
show was much better than the Sydney show. No, it's not patriotism, its based solely on comparison between the Newie show
I went to and the live CD, These Days. Granted, the entire set list from the concert isn't on the CD, and neither
was the thing I'd been hanging out for. While Sydneysiders were treated to a piano version of These Days, they had to settle
for the stock standard live version of Passenger. Don't get me wrong, its still an awesome song, but it sounded so much better
as a piano solo. I want my Passenger!
Apart from that, it's almost as good as being there. The tracks are awesome, and there's one major bonus - there's no
little teeny who's never heard of Double Allergic sitting next to you while yelling "I'm at Powderfinger, how cool is that
!!1!!1!" into her mobile phone. I am impressed that the psycho drum solo in the middle of the show made it onto the
CD - and Bernard's harmonica. I think I'll skip getting the DVD though. The CD has the music I want and I had a good enough
view the first time. Besides, I'll be on the floor for the next gig (especially if they come back to BOTH!)
